Viren Malaviya is the Wireless Systems Architect in the Mobile Wireless Group (MWG) at Cisco Systems. In this role, Viren is involved in system engineering and design projects related to GPRS and UMTS technology. He is an active participant and contributor to the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Core Network and Systems Architecture groups. Viren is an expert in mobile wireless technologies, Voice over IP (VoIP), wireless IP-based applicatons, and SS7.
Prior to Cisco, Viren held engineering positions with Siemens and Nortel Networks, focusing on circuit switched telephony applications, call processing, GSM, and CDMA 1x technologies.
Viren holds a masters degree in Computer Engineering from Florida Atlantic University, and a bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Essex (UK). |
