Dr. Vincent Pellegrini is the James Lawrence Kernan Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthopaedics of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He has been the recipient of the Bunnell Traveling Fellowship of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the North American Traveling Fellowship of the American Orthopaedic Association, the John Charnley Award from the Hip Society (twice) for study of venous thromboemolic disease, the Frank Stinchfield Award, from the Hip Society, for research on radiation inhibition of heterotopic ossification following surgery about the hip, and the Nicolas Andry award from the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons for his work on degenerative disease of the thumb trapeziometacarpal joint. Dr. Pellegrini is Editor in Chief of Current Opinion in Orthopaedics, a member of the Board of Directors of Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, a Deputy Editor of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, and has published more than 90 original articles in peerreviewed journals as well as abstracts and book chapters. |
