Dr. DeVita, a medical oncologist, is the internationally recognized former Director of the National Cancer Institute. While at NCI, he was instrumental in developing combination chemotherapy programs that ultimately led to an effective regimen of curative chemotherapy of Hodgkin's disease and diffuse large cell lymphomas. Dr. DeVita is a co-editor of the most respected comprehensive textbook in the field of cancer medicine Cancer: Principles and Practice of Oncology. He also serves as co-editor of Progress in Oncology and The Cancer Journal. He is currently Professor of Medicine and Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health at the Yale Cancer Center, Yale University School of Medicine where he served as Director for the last ten years. Dr. DeVita has served as Chairman of Light Sciences' Scientific Advisory Board since April 2002 and has actively consulted with the Company regarding clinical trial indications and endpoints. |
