Vincent K. Shier is a partner in the firm's Chemical & Biotechnology Practice Group. His focus is chemical and biotechnology patent prosecution. He also has extensive experience with reexamination and reissue applications and procedures. His areas of technical expertise include: biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Shier received his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. He received his Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from the Pennsylvania State University. His thesis research, under the direction of Professor Stephen J. Benkovic, focused on the characterization and inhibition of an essential, non-restriction/modification adenine DNA methyltransferase from the "-Proteobacterium, Caulobacter crescentus. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rochester, with a double major in biology and chemistry.
Dr. Shier is admitted to the Virginia State Bar and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. |
