During his career at Southern National Bank he served as vice president and city executive of Goldsboro NC; senior vice president and city executive of Fayetteville NC; and senior vice president and regional executive of the North Central Region headquartered in Greensboro N.C. Mr. Nelson joined BB&T in 1995 through its merger with Southern National Bank.
