Dr. de la Cruz joined Cytokine PharmaSciences, Inc. in August 2001, as Director, Preclinical Research. He became Vice President, Business Development in December 2004. Dr. de la Cruz has been responsible for project management and scientific research at several biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, including MedImmune, Cortech and Roche Vitamins. His principal areas of expertise include vaccine discovery research, technology assessment and licensing, peptide phage display and lead compound identification. Dr. de la Cruz holds a Ph.D. from U.C.L.A. and completed his postdoctoral training at The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the National Institutes of Health. He trained as a cell and molecular biologist and has over 20 years experience in preclinical research and discovery. Dr. de la Cruz has several patents and has published in professional journals that include Nature, Science and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (USA). |
