Victoria M. Ingber is an immigration attorney practicing exclusively in the arts field for over 30 years. Her varied practice includes artists, art galleries (including The Asian-American Art Center, The Knitting Factory, Exit Art and The Jack Shainman Gallery), museum curators, fiction and nonfiction writers, television and print journalists, poets, playwrights, musicians (including the late Joe Strummer of ‘The Clash’ and Rodger Daltrey of ‘ The Who’), actors (including Roberto Begnigni, Nicoletta Braschi and Armin Mueller-Stahl), models (including Calvin Klein’s signature model), designers (fashion, interior, graphic, etc.), dance troupes (including The Alvin Ailey Dance Company), opera companies (including The New York City Opera), jazz groups, theatrical production companies (including El Teatro Español and The La Mama Experimental Theatre Company) and films (including ‘Gangs of New York’ by Martin Scorsese and ‘Mystery Train’ and ‘Night on Earth’ by Jim Jarmusch) Victoria attended Cornell University’s School of Architecture, Art and Planning (she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree) and is a graduate of St. John’s School of Law. Upon graduation, Victoria joined the law department of the television station NBC and in 1986 was one of the first women to found a law firm (direct phone access: 212-685-9818). She serves as legal advisor to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York on immigration issues. In addition to her law practice, Victoria is a voting member of the Grammy Awards Committee, a member of the New York Artists Equity Association (where she advocates for international artist rights) and of the Association of Immigration Attorneys. Victoria works in cooperation with the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), the Academy of Motion Pictures, the Directors Guild of America (DGA), the American Federation of Musicians (AFM), the Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA), the Writer’s Guild of America, the New York Fashion Council and various other arts organizations. Victoria was awarded the 2003 National Leadership Award presented by the Presidential Committee for Women in Business. Currently she is writing an article, tentatively entitled: The Transfer of Global Talent to be distributed throughout Latin America this coming year. She is admitted to the bars of the states of New York and Connecticut and to The Supreme Court of the United States. Victoria is proficient in Spanish. |
