Victor von Althann joined iQVP in June 2003 as a Managing Director.
Prior to joining iQVP, Mr. von Althann was a senior insurance executive with Guy Carpenter & Co., Inc., a reinsurance intermediary wholly-owned by Marsh & McLennan Cos., Inc. where he spent over twenty-two years in positions of increasing responsibility handling the U.K. and London Market business. He began his career as an underwriter with Gerling Konzern A.G. in Cologne where he specialized in products' liability coverage from 1973 to 1975.
More recently, Victor von Althann was a reinsurance consultant handling a variety of assignments, among them advising a large U.K. law firm on the structure of markets and scope of contract coverages. Principal and advisory activities include leading an investor group in the restructuring of .COMDAQ Corporation of Austin, TX. Mr. von Althann worked on the development of an internet based exchange for intellectual properties and served as chairman of the creditors' committee when the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Mr. von Althann graduated with an MBA in finance from the Wharton School in 1972 and an LLB from the University of Munich Law School in 1969.
He is married to Natica von Althann and they have three children. The family resides in New York City and in Bedford, N.Y. |
