Vic Prechtl is vice president and controller of Fluor Corporation reporting to the chief financial officer. He is the company's principal accounting officer responsible for worldwide financial reporting for Fluor and its subsidiaries, and he is charged with ensuring that internal controls, accounting policies, practices and systems are Sarbanes-Oxley compliant and meet management and shareholder financial reporting needs. Prechtl is the primary interface with Ernst & Young LLP, the company's external audit firm.
Prior to his current position, he was the director of Internal Audit reporting to the chief financial officer and the Audit Committee of the board of directors.
Prechtl began his career with Fluor Corporation in 1981 as director of Corporate Accounting with primary responsibility for consolidation of worldwide financial results, accounting and reporting for acquisitions and divestitures, and financial reporting to shareholders and regulatory agencies. He also has served as treasurer of the Fluor Foundation and Fluor Public Affairs Committee.
Prior to joining Fluor, Prechtl held corporate accounting and division controller positions with Memorex Corporation and was a senior auditor with Ernst & Young in its Los Angeles office.
Prechtl is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in California and is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Prechtl graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a degree in Accounting. |
