Mr. Faris brings 30 years of real estate finance expertise to Western Reserve Partners, the last 20 of which were spent in real estate investment banking. During that time, he completed hundreds of transactions in a variety of related products, including private debt and equity, public debt and equity, M&A advisory, operating partnership unit swaps, asset securitization and credit tenant leases.
Prior to joining Western Reserve Partners, Mr. Faris was a Managing Director of KeyBanc Real Estate Capital Markets and Manager of Real Estate Investment Banking at Key Bank and McDonald Investments Inc. Mr. Faris joined McDonald & Company in 1986 and was one of the founding members of the real estate investment banking practice. He was appointed head of the department ten years later. Representative clients of Mr. Faris’s include Giltz & Associates, Inc., Glimcher Realty Trust, Corporate Office Properties, Ramco-Gershenson Property Trust, Equity One Inc., Regency Properties, The Ferchill Group, The Inland Group, Westgate Resorts, Forest City, Century Realty Trust, Cardinal Capital, United Trust Fund and Alexandria Real Estate Equities Inc.
Prior to joining McDonald Investments, Mr. Faris was the Treasurer of Gem Savings Associations, a thrift that was purchased by National City Bank in Cleveland. His duties included managing a $500 million portfolio of mortgage-backed securities and a $200 million portfolio of short-term fixed income securities. Mr. Faris started his real estate finance career at Gem Savings in 1976 as a mortgage loan officer. He was graduated from Wright State University in 1976 with a degree in economics.
