Vicki Wilson, Deputy Director for the Midwest Regional Office, brings over 25 years of managerial experience to JLWA with an emphasis in personnel and financial management. Prior to joining JLWA, she served in several senior management positions including Chief Administrative Officer for Emergency Preparedness in the City of Chicago's Mayor's Office, and similar positions with the City's Office of Emergency Management and Communications and Chicago Fire Department (CFD).
During her tenure with the City of Chicago, Ms. Wilson oversaw the finance and personnel activities for the OEMC and CFD, as well as the OEMC's training and facilities operations. Her finance responsibilities included the administration of the City's Department of Homeland Security grants, and the presentation and defense of each department's annual operations and capital budgets to the City Budget Office and City Council. She also managed the renovation of the City's Joint Operations Center and CFD Resource Center, and coordinated the initial planning for a regional public safety training academy.
For Chicago's groundbreaking central business district mass evacuation exercise which involved more than 3,000 building tenants from four major high-rise buildings, Ms. Wilson served as the liaison and coordinator of logistics for the private sector participants. She also scripted and oversaw production of the resulting evacuation life safety DVD.
Ms. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University, Masters in Public Health from Yale University and Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University. She is currently a faculty member with the University of Chicago, Graham School's Master of Science in Threat and Response Management program. |
