Trius joined Wal-Mart in 1996 as Vice President, Operations in the International Division. In 1997, he was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer, Wal-Mart Brazil. In this position, he oversaw the company's growth from a small, ten store operation to a more than 313 store, multi-format business with 63,000 associates nationwide. In January 2008, Trius was promoted to Executive Vice President, President and CEO of Wal-Mart Asia, International and was appointed to the Executive Committee for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. In this position, he leads Wal-Mart’s retail operations in Asia.
Before joining Wal-Mart, Trius was in Madrid, Spain, where he served as Managing Director with Dairy Farm International from 1991 to 1996. He also served as Regional Director of Operations with Revco Drugstores Inc. (Twinsburg, Ohio) from 1984 to 1991. |
