G. Verne Goodsell is a senior partner in the Rapid City law firm of Gunderson, Palmer, Goodsell & Nelson, LLP, where he focuses on medical malpractice, personal injury, insurance bad faith, and strategic business planning. He received a B.S. and M.S. degree from Northern State College, and has a J.D. degree from the Washburn University. Verne is a member of the American Bar Association and related committees. He is past president of the South Dakota State Bar Association and is chairman of the Ethics 2000 Committee, chairman of the Multi-Jurisdictional Practice/Internet Committee, and past chairman of the Advertising Committee (1998-99), Disciplinary Board (1990-96), Professionalism Committee (1989-90), State Bar Commissioner (1984-87). Verne was recognized in "The Best Lawyers in America 2006" for Commercial Litigation. Verne is also a past president of the Pennington County Bar Association. He is active in the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association. He was general counsel for the South Dakota Board of Technical Professions (1995-2003), a member of the Federation of Associations of Regulatory Boards, a director of Delta Dental of South Dakota (1980-85) (1991-present), a past director of Christian Life Ministries (1985-2002), past president and director of the Rapid City Cosmopolitan Club, and a past director of the Black Hills Playhouse (1999-2002). |
