Venkata Rao, as he is popularly known, joined Sify in September 2006, as Advisor, Business Strategy.
He is responsible for world-class products in International Markets, establishing close relationships with Fortune 500 companies, and the delivery of Enterprise Solutions to verticals like Insurance, Retail, BFSI and the Technology Sector.
He has over 15 years of rich and varied experience at senior managerial levels in private, public and government organizations in the IT & Communications domains. His innovative and market leading strategies have immensely contributed to the growth of his earlier organizations.
Prior to joining Sify, Venkata Rao was the President and CEO of SoftPro Systems Ltd between 2002 and 2006. He was the President & Director-Operations of VisualSoft Technologies between 1996 and 2001, and was Member Technical, at Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) between 1992 and 1996.
His rich experience of working with start up organizations to make them commercially viable and successful in the International markets will give him the ability to contribute across Sify’s businesses.
He has made many presentations on various technologies and business issues in diverse academic and business forums.
Venkat holds an MTech degree in Systems Engineering and also first rank holder from the University of Mysore. He has done his BTech in Industrial Engineering from the same University.
