Vaughn D. Bryson has served as a consultant to AtheroGenics since 1996 and as a member of our board of directors since February 2000. Mr. Bryson was a 32 year employee of Eli Lilly and Company ("Lilly"), where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer from 1991 until June 1993; he was Executive Vice President from 1986 until 1991. He served as a member of the board of directors of Lilly from 1984 until his retirement in 1993. From April 1994 to December 1996, Mr. Bryson served as Vice Chairman of Vector Securities International. Mr. Bryson is the President of Clinical Products, Inc., a medical foods company founded in 1999. In addition to AtheroGenics, Inc., Mr. Bryson is also a director of Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Icos Corporation. Mr. Bryson received a B.S. degree in Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina and completed the Sloan Program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. |
