Dr. Vanessa Farmand is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery Rechtsanwälte Steuerberater LLP based in its Düsseldorf office. She is a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department.
Vanessa advises clients on German and European competition law, including merger control, transaction structuring, restrictive agreements and abuse of a dominant position.
Her IP practice covers all aspects of European and German trademark law, unfair competition, copyrights, design rights and patents. She also focuses on general contractual and commercial law. In addition to consulting clients she appears in court and other official institutions.
Vanessa studied law at the University of Düsseldorf. During her legal clerkship she worked inter alia at international law firms as well as at the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations and to other International Organizations in Geneva. She received her Dr. jur. in 2004 from the University of Münster.
Vanessa is admitted to the German Bar and a member of the German Intellectual Property and Copyright Law Association (GRUR). She speaks German, English and French.
