Valerie Garcia's practice focuses on representing builders, developers, contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers, suppliers, architects and engineers in a wide variety of construction related claims. Ms. Garcia also has significant experience defending product liability claims, toxic tort claims, premise liability claims and complex commercial litigation.
Admitted to practice in all Colorado state courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, Ms. Garcia is a member of the Denver Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association, Women's Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association. In 2007, Ms. Garcia was one of nineteen individuals selected statewide for the inaugural class of the Colorado Bar Association Leadership Training (COBALT) program. Ms. Garcia served as co-chair for the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association's Education Committee from 2000 to 2002.
Active in her community, Ms. Garcia has served on several community boards, including the Downtown Aurora Visual Arts Center, the Good Shepherd Foundation, and the University of Colorado at Denver Alumni Association. Ms. Garcia has also coached Colorado Bar Association Mock Trial teams at both Aurora Central High School and Cherry Creek High School.
Ms. Garcia was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina and raised in Denver, Colorado. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Denver. She received her law degree from the University of Denver. While at the University of Denver, Ms. Garcia was named a Chancellor's Scholar and worked in the Aurora Municipal Public Defender's Office as a paralegal. After graduating from law school, Ms. Garcia served as an Assistant Deputy Public Defender and was employed by Qwest Communications, formerly US WEST, Inc. Ms. Garcia joined Kennedy Childs & Fogg, PC in November 2000. |
