Professional Experience
Identified logistics improvement opportunities at a major foodservice company focusing on inbound freight initiatives.
Identified cost reduction opportunities at a Fortune 100 transportation services provider leading several category initiatives through a center-led procurement initiative. As part of this effort Tripp analyzed existing agreements with suppliers identifying opportunities to lower costs and improve service. This effort also included re-negotiating agreements with the existing supplier base.
Served as a strategic sourcing category manager for vehicles implementing cost reduction measures for a large waste management company’s strategic buy resulting in 8% savings on $370 million in spend. As part of this project Tripp helped negotiate three-year agreements with chassis and body manufacturers to incorporate unit price reduction and joint process improvements.
Led an initiative to develop a value proposition and RFP response document as part of a counter -sourcing initiative at a $1.5 billion bakery and food service company.
Worked with a Fortune 500 railroad to standardize methods to purchase as well as identify and implement process improvements across the strategic sourcing organization.
Developed and implemented a transportation assessment methodology for a leading German-based manufacturer identifying process improvement savings of 6-9% on $200 million in annual spend.
Developed a transportation management strategy for a Fortune 500 retailer analyzing make vs. buy tradeoffs and identifying savings of 5-14% through strategic sourcing and productivity improvements.
