Tricia Hynes is a senior associate in Meyers Nave's Government and Civil Rights Tort Litigation Group. Tricia has experience in public entity tort defense, civil rights, and Constitutional law. She has handled matters ranging from nuisance abatement and code enforcement actions to Section 1983 civil rights liability cases, with an emphasis on police liability. Currently, Tricia handles all aspects of the vast majority of the firm's civil rights police and personal injury cases. Tricia is well-versed in public entity defense, and handles matters from pre-litigation and claims presentation, throughout civil litigation. Tricia also is part of the firm's Pitchess team, which serves to assist cities in opposing demands for confidential peace officer personnel records.Prior to joining Meyers Nave, Tricia interned at the Office of the General Counsel for the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Tricia also clerked for the Honorable Arnold New in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County.Tricia graduated cum laude from Boston University in 1996, earning a B.A. in English. She received her J.D. degree from the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University in 2000. During law school, she was a senior editor for the Dickinson Journal of Environmental Law and Policy.She is a member of the California Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Alameda County Bar Association. |
