Practice Emphasis Administrative Law, Government Relations Professional Experience Trevor Hayes is an associate with Lionel Sawyer & Collins' Gaming and Regulatory Law Department and is part of the Firm's Legislative Affairs Team. His practice focuses on government relations at the state and local levels, particularly in the areas of land use issues and legislative advocacy. Prior to obtaining his law degree, Mr. Hayes served as a student intern to the U.S. Attorney, Northern District of Illinois; as a summer intern to the New York County (Manhattan) District Attorney; as a judicial extern for the Honorable James C. Mahan, U.S. District Court, District of Nevada; and as a summer clerk for the Cook County (Illinois) State's Attorney's Office. He has also worked as a freelance writer, as a staff writer for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, as a reporter for the Associated Press, and in public relations. Mr. Hayes was named a "Legislative Standout" by the Las Vegas Review-Journal in February 2007, and a "Rising Star of Business" by the Las Vegas Business Press in May 2007.
