Practice
Mr. Knight has represented foreign banking clients in connection with the organization, purchase, and sale of banking, securities, and other subsidiaries in the U.S.; the operations of U.S. branches and subsidiaries; and the preparation and filing of applications to the Federal Reserve with respect to activities requiring Federal Reserve approval.
He has represented other financial institutions, including a foreign mutual insurance company, in connection with the activities of its U.S. subsidiaries, including the formation and operation of a trust company under New York law and subject to approval and regulation by the New York State Banking Department. He has been on the boards of and represented various not-for-profit institutions, including advising an institution engaged in basic molecular biology with respect to the commercialization of its patent rights.
He has represented inter vivos and testamentary trusts, including trusts of which he is trustee or co-trustee with a bank. In addition, he has represented individuals and families with respect to financial matters, estate planning, family trusts, and personal matters generally.
