Before establishing Fitech Laboratories , Inc. in June 2001, Mr. Matsushima was chairman of Fitech Inc. in Japan, which he founded in 1998. In the 20 months he oversaw the company, it grew to a 110-person operation with $12M in revenue, primarily from the development of NetStock, the leading Internet trading system in Japan, for Matsui Securities Co., Ltd. Before joining Fitech Inc., Mr. Matsushima was president of Bees Computer, which he co-founded. Bees Computer developed custom software, including a commodity trading system, a stock trading system and a messaging infrastructure for bond management systems, using object-oriented technology. Bees Computer also developed a flexible technical analysis framework on NeXTStep that was licensed to a large Japanese computer company, and an infrastructure for risk-index calculation and delivery system for a large Japanese securities company. Mr. Matsushima received his Master's of Science degree in Computer Science in 1990 from Stanford University, and worked for three years as a research/teaching assistant at Stanford's Computer Science and Genetics Departments where he published several papers.
