He comes from the position of executive vice president for Hydro’s Oil & Energy business area where he served from January 2000 up to the closing of the merger between Statoil and Hydro.
From 1990 to 2000 he was responsible for Hydro’s activities on the Norwegian continental shelf, including operations and exploration. From 1982 to 1990 he held different management positions within Exploration & Production related to North Sea field development projects.
Mr Torvund worked for the French oil company Elf Aquitaine in Stavanger and Paris from 1977 to 1982.
He received an MSc in petroleum engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1976. |
