Tor Arnesen was appointed Vice President: Human Resources, at Shell Global Solutions in 2006. His leadership role includes responsibility for Global Skill Pool Management, Recruitment and Talent Management, Training and HR Consultancy, Leadership Development, D&I and the development and implemenetation of HR policies and processes.
Tor joined Shell in 1984 and has since held numerous managerial positions in HR, including HSE Manager for Shell Scandinavia, HR Manager for EP Norway, HR Director Shell in Norway and HR Strategy and Policy Manager for EP Europe.
For four years before joining Shell, he was an HR Advisor for the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.
Tor’s particular areas of expertise include talent management, leadership development, Diversity and Inclusiveness (D&I), performance management and organisational change.
He is a member of HR Norway, a nationwide organisation of HR professionals.
On behalf of Shell, Tor received a D&I prize from the Centre of Corporate Diversity and the Ministry of Trade, in 2002. The prize was awarded to Shell for its profile, plans and results in developing women for leadership positions.
