M. Tony Patton is a trial lawyer with more than nine years experience, who concentrates his practice on medical malpractice litigation.
For nearly five years, Mr. Patton has defended hospitals, physicians, and nurses against malpractice actions in both Kansas and Missouri, state and federal court. His clients have included large inner-city and rural-regional clinics, as well as physicians specializing in obstetrics-gynecology, emergency medicine, neurology, orthopedics, nephrology and cardiology.
In addition, Mr. Patton has significant experience in personal injury and construction litigation, which has proven invaluable in defending hospitals against slip-and-fall and other non-medical negligence cases, particularly when building codes and construction guidelines are at issue.
Mr. Patton has represented psychiatric facilities and provided counseling and advice to his corporate clients concerning risk management issues with a focus on the prevention of future claims. He has also provided counseling to physicians in staff privileges matters and in proceedings before the Kansas and Missouri Boards of Healing Arts.
