He is responsible for Hydro’s project organization including construction of the metal plant Qatalum in Qatar. Røtjer has held a large variety of management positions in Hydro since 1987 covering different areas of development projects. From 1995 to 1998 he was project director for the Njord Field Development on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Then he was appointed head of Hydro Technology & Projects. In 2004 he became project director for the Ormen Lange and Langeled development project. Røtjer holds a master in mechanical engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology. He is married and has two children.
