Tom has almost twenty years of experience serving in various finance, accounting and advisory positions. He has significant hands on experience helping companies evaluate and assess their financial position and helping them create value through thoughtful planning and analysis. Tom’s experience with Mackinac Partners includes advising the European division of one of the world’s largest timeshare companies. His responsibilities included evaluation of the company’s extensive real estate portfolio, disposition of non-core real estate assets and assistance with due diligence matters during the sale of the company. He also served as interim Manager of the Purchasing, Construction, Property Development Services and Treasury Departments. Prior to joining Mackinac Partners, Tom advised the Trustee in the Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 liquidation of a $100 million resort developer and operator. During the orderly liquidation of the company, Tom led the Treasury functions and assisted with many bankruptcy matters. Tom’s broad knowledge allowed him to be retained as the only member of the Estate, and during the course of the bankruptcy, his responsibilities varied accordingly. His leadership was instrumental in recovering greater than $15 million for the creditors through the sale of the debtors’ remaining assets, litigation support and preference action management. Prior to his advisory experience, Tom served as Treasurer of Leisure Industries, managing fourteen staff members across three departments Cash Management, Purchasing and Accounts Payable. Tom also served as Director of Budgeting, Planning, Analysis and Treasury for MortgageRamp, a subsidiary of GMAC Commercial Mortgage. His responsibilities included cash management, management reporting, budgeting and financial analysis related to acquisitions and divestitures. Additionally, Tom spent several years at The WMF Group, a leading FNMA and FHA mortgage banking company, as a Senior Staff Accountant and Financial Analyst. Tom earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin. |
