Tom is Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Azingo. He brings hard-won knowledge of the Asian mobile industry as well as a deep understanding of how to supply quality software to demanding mobile phone customers. Prior to joining Azingo, Tom was General Manager of Mobile Devices in Japan. Tom was also a Managing Director of the Motorola Japan board and Vice President of Motorola Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. Under Tom’s leadership, Motorola launched the M1000, the first UMTS/WiFi smart phone in Japan in 2005 and the highly successful MOTORAZR FOMA products in 2006. Tom also played a key role in the initial stage of the LiMo Foundation of which Azingo is a core member. Prior to his general manager role, Tom was a senior engineering and a program manager at Motorola Mobile, and was responsible for the Wireless System Development Center, with a primary focus to develop WCDMA technology with NTT DoCoMo. There, Tom established the team at Yokosuka Research Park, managing the program and integrating the team with 3G development in other parts of the world. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University with follow-on Master’s studies at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Tom holds 4 US patents. |
