Tom Moritz has been involved with semiconductor lasers since 1983 when he joined Laser Diode Laboratories as a process engineer. His early experience focused on developing techniques and processes related to laser device fabrication for enhancing device yield and reliability. Tom then worked at Lytel Inc. where he focused primarily on the characterization and failure analysis of advanced laser structures for InP single mode telecommunication applications. His experience at Lytel also required establishing advanced characterization techniques and processes for the failure analysis of laser diodes, LEDs and PIN detectors. In 1995, Tom and his two partners founded High Power Devices Inc. As manager of the high power laser device group, he led the MOCVD technology group responsible for the characterization and development of high power laser diodes. |
