Tom Grudkowski has over 30 years experience in managing both small company start-ups and larger engineering organizations at United Technologies, Emerson, UT Automotive, and now L-3 SafeView. He has led commercialization efforts under Divisionand Contract support for military and commercial products. At UT, he ran the Electronics Research Laboratory at the UT Research Center and supported the R&D needs for multiple UTC divisions including Pratt and Whitney, Norden Radar Systems, Hamilton Standard, Carrier, Otis Elevator, MOSTEC, and UT Automotive. He led the technical develpment of UT Automotive's composite Flywheel development program for automotive and Electric Utility applications together with BMW, Ford and ARPA. At Emerson, he led custom and commercial developments for fractional and large integral Hp motors and controls. He also led the Emerson ASTEC Semiconductor ASIC Design House and married out-sourced chip designers with multinational IC FABs.
He started SafeView, together with the CEO, as SVP and CTO and successfully developed the commercial security scanning product in 3.5 years, after which time SafeView was acquired by L3. He has a PhD from the Ginzton Microwave Laboratory at Stanford University and was a Hughes Master’s Fellow at Hughes Research Lab while attending UCLA. His B.S.E.E. is from the University of Pennsylvania .
