Tom Goodman brings to the public company he founded 30 years of experience at three major American corporation - CBS, ABC and J. Walter Thompson. He launched Goodman Media International, Inc. in November 1996 after working for nine years at CBS News and CBS Inc. By the end of 2006, Goodman Media had provided pub lic relations and marketing services to more than 200 companies and organizations in the broadcasting, cable, online, consumer electronics, automotive, advertising travel, financial, publising, technology, not-for-profit and healthcare fields. As CBS's Vice president, Media Relations, Goodman directed all of the company's communications efforts for the CBS News, Sports and entertainment divisions, as well as related corporate, network and station information. He was the senior divisions of the company. At CBS News, Goodman directed public relations campaigns for the "CBS Evening News with Dan Rather," "60 Minutes," "48 hours," "CBS News' Primary spokesman for all broadcast matters, including policy, standards and new program development. During his career at ABC and CBS, Goodman worked on such major news events as: the U.S. invasion of Haiti; the chinese student uprising in Tiananmen Square; the 1984, 1988 and 1992 Democratic and Republican National conventions; the TWA Flight 847 hijack crisis in Beirut; the Israeil invasion of Lebanon and the "Liberty Weekend" cenrennial celebration of the Statue of Liberty. Goodman has vast experience in the planning and execution of major press conferences, galas and special events. He was the executive in charge of events at: Radio city Music Hall; the Metopolitan Museum of Art; the Metopolitan Opera House; Alice Tully Hall; the New York public Library; the National press Club; the Japan society;; the Intrepid sea, Air & Space Museum; the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Television & Radio. Prior to joining ABC News in 1981, Goodman was and Account Executive with J. Walter Thompson.He worked on national media-relations campaigns for Eastman Kodak company, Baush & Lomb, Standard Brands, Eli Lilly and G.D. Searle. Goodman began his career as a reporter-photographer for The Delaware Gazette, a daily newspaper near Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. Goodman, a native of Scarsdale, New york, and his wife, live in New york City with their two children. |
