As chief supply chain officer and vice president and general manager of the Document and Label Solutions business unit, Tom Furey is responsible for Manufacturing, Supply Management, Distribution and Logistics. In addition he manages the company-wide functions of Engineering, Sourcing and Procurement for Standard Register.
Furey joined Standard Register in 2004 as vice president of Manufacturing. He has an impressive track record of success in his career, as well as significant educational credentials. Prior to joining Standard Register, he held operations management positions with Avery Dennison. Leveraging Six Sigma and implementing Lean Manufacturing, he and his team helped drive industry-leading quality and productivity at his operations. Before that, Furey held operations positions with Allied Signal/Honeywell. Still earlier in his career, he served in the U.S. Navy as an operational test director and as a naval flight officer.
Furey holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Computer Science from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from California State University. He also earned a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
