Tom joined Minco in 1993 and has over 30 years experience in the ceramic and materials business. He began his career with Corning Glass Works as an engineer and worked in many different specialty ceramic and glass businesses while rising through engineering and manufacturing managerial positions.He left Corning when Corhart Refractories, a division of Corning was sold to the division managers including Tom. He went on to become a Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Corhart and later a VP and GM. The Corhart LBO was successful and Corhart was eventually purchased by Saint Gobain. Tom then worked in the aerospace industry as a division GM and VP and in the coatings industry also as a division GM and President.Common themes in all of his assignments are:Global businesses that were highly technicalMaterial based problem solving products for customers Successful financial turnarounds Assembly of a talented team Focus on employee safety and training Tom enjoys teaching and has frequently taught or given seminars on the topic of total quality management. College of Ceramic Engineering and an MBA from the University of Buffalo’s graduate school of Management. |
