Thomas S. (Tom) Brown is the senior vice president of Human Resources for L-3 Communications Integrated Systems L.P. In this capacity, he is responsible for Human Resources and related activities for employees at more than 300 locations worldwide. Previously, Tom served in senior management for HR and in similar roles for the business unit, which was acquired by L-3 Communications in the first quarter of 2002. Tom has been with the company for over 15 years. In his current role, Tom is responsible for HR issues of the business including strategic planning, talent management, staffing and manpower planning, employee relations, labor relations for 33 bargaining units, compensation and benefits, organization effectiveness, security, and wellness. Brown has extensive HR experience and has served in compensation, information systems, staffing and HR generalist roles throughout his career. Previous employers include Raytheon, Alcatel and Bank One. Tom holds a bachelor’s of business administration degree in management from West Texas A&M University, a master’s in business administration degree in human resource management from the University of Dallas and a master of liberal arts degree from Southern Methodist University. From 1994 to 2000, he served as an adjunct faculty member at Texas A&M University-Commerce, teaching compensation management, staffing and manpower planning and labor management relations courses.
