Tom Allanson joined H&R Block in June 2005 as senior vice president and general manager of the Digital Tax Solutions group after the company acquired TaxNet, a provider of customized online tax services, where he was a co-founder.
Allanson has directed the Digital Tax Solutions team in expanding its client served by 23 percent during fiscal 2006, outpacing the online and packaged tax software industry’s growth as do-it-yourself taxpayers move from pen-and-paper to computer-based tax programs to complete and e-file their returns.
Allanson previously served as senior vice president and general manager of Intuit’s consumer tax group, where he was responsible for all aspects of the company’s consumer tax preparation software. Prior to that Allanson worked at General Electric in a variety of leadership positions including sales, marketing and as president of GEC Colonial Pacific Leasing. He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Auburn University. |
