Mr. Vandenhaak is a Nielsen-Wurster Senior Associate and Northwest Regional Manager. He has more than ten years experience as a civil engineer in the transportation and infrastructure sectors. He provides expertise in analyzing claims, claim support and Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling on a variety of project types in the transportation, building, infrastructure, power, process, and industry sectors. Within these sectors, Mr. Vandenhaak provides expertise with various contract delivery types including cost reimbursable, EPC fast track projects.
As a team leader on Dispute Resolution engagements, Mr. Vandenhaak provides expertise in cost, delay, productivity and inefficiency analyses. He also has extensive experience in project management, project engineering and construction management including direct supervision of contractor work efforts, production and review of final design drawings, safety issues, estimating, bidding, scheduling and contract development. Mr. Vandenhaak provides expertise in project planning, infrastructure improvement, cost and design of site logistics for large complex construction projects.
Prior to joining Nielsen Wurster, Mr. Vandenhaak worked as a Civil Engineer in the Transportation Department of Stanley Consultants, Inc. in Phoenix, Arizona. He provided engineering consulting services for clients both domestically and internationally. As a Project Engineer, Mr. Vandenhaak was responsible for development of final Engineering Plans, Specifications and Cost Estimate for highway and utility projects. Mr. Vandenhaak also wrote Special Provisions as part of construction documents as required for local, state and federal transportation projects.
Mr. Vandenhaak also has experience of working as a Construction Manager at Entranco Engineers, Bellevue, Washington, where he worked on roadway, utility and bridge projects. Mr. Vandenhaak started his career with Granite Construction Corp., in Carson City, Nevada, where he performed bid estimates & assisted with general management of highway paving projects. |
