As News Director he counts helping to spearhead KERO-23's involvement with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as one of his proudest achievements. KERO-23 has helped raised 1.75 million dollars the past two years to benefit the hospital with another "Dream Home" giveaway coming in July 2005.
Todd has done just about everything at KERO. He began at the station in 1995 working just two days a week as the weekend sports anchor. From there he became a news reporter, then an anchor, and now holds his current position as Anchor/News Director. On occasion you might still see Todd do a "live" shot from the field, and he also enjoys reporting on his topics of special interest, education and politics.
Todd is proud of the 23News team and its relationship to Kern County. Several members of the team are from Kern County and those who came here from other places have developed an affection and appreciation for the area, "I think that is reflected in the kind of stories and newscasts we do every day,"
he says.
Todd himself came to Bakersfield from San Pedro, Calif., where he was raised. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Information from the University of Southern California. After several years working in sports radio around the country, Todd has settled in northwest Bakersfield with his wife and co-anchor Jackie Parks.
In his spare time Todd likes to play with his son Jack, golf, bike ride, and read biographies. |
