As corporate vice president of the Gaming and Xbox Product Group at Microsoft Corp., Todd Holmdahl is responsible for the design, engineering, testing and manufacturing of all Xbox consoles worldwide. This includes silicon design, manufacturing partnerships, and Xbox new-product ideation and incubation. In addition, Holmdahl is responsible for the manufacturing of Microsoft's mice and keyboard products and for product safety, compliance and corporate citizenship related to all Microsoft hardware products.
To achieve these objectives, Holmdahl manages a global team that spans three U.S. campuses and also has team members in several other countries working with Microsoft's key manufacturing and sourcing partners. Over the past several years, the Xbox Product Group has worked with partners in 20 countries to deliver high-quality products to customers.
Holmdahl has played an instrumental role as one of the founding fathers of the Xbox program. Since the program's inception, Holmdahl has helped create the vision for the program, led the console design, development and manufacturing effort, and recruited and developed an exceptionally talented team.
Holmdahl joined Microsoft after working at Fluke Corp. on handheld test equipment engineering. Before assuming his role with Xbox, Holmdahl worked in the group responsible for developing Microsoft mouse products, which introduced innovative products such as the Microsoft Wheel Mouse and Microsoft Optical Mouse during his tenure.
Holmdahl holds a master's degree and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University. |
