Mr. Galante is a shareholder in the Firm's Bankruptcy Group. He has represented debtor companies, trustees, secured creditors (including various banks, insurance companies, title insurance companies, lessors, bondholders, indenture trustees, joint venture groups and individuals), unsecured creditors' committees, special interest committees and unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 and 7 cases. He has defended countless adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court for clients addressing myriad issues. Mr. Galante has also represented purchasers of assets in bankruptcy and other creditor proceedings, as well as clients in matters involving assignments for the benefit of creditors, receiverships, appointments of special fiscal agents, debt collection, out-of-court workouts and restructurings, foreclosure, replevin, lender liability, mortgage warehousing, ponzi scheme, fraud and insurance claims. With respect to business and other litigation, Mr. Galante has been appointed and served as special counsel to various insurance companies for themselves and/or their insureds. With regard these matters, he has represented the insureds of title insurance companies, D&O and E&O carriers and their insureds--representing CEOs, other officers and insureds, as well as surety companies and/or their insured. Mr. Galante has also handled a wide range of other litigation matters including, but not limited to, business and partnership dissolution, tortious interference, unfair competition, trademark infringement, commercial leasehold disputes, minority shareholder disputes, insurance coverage, surety litigation/payment bond and indemnity claims and litigation, breach of contract, non-compete/restrictive covenant and various professional malpractice actions. He has also represented professionals (physicians and others) on regulatory and licensure matters. He has defended patient and professional board and civil actions involving allegations of wrongdoing, impropriety and/or illegal conduct. Mr. Galante has also been involved in and represented condominium associations and property management companies in complex and other litigation.Mr. Galante is a certified Mediator and Arbitrator who has served in over 100 cases. He was elected to public office as a Council-At-Large of the City of Orange, NJ in 1988 and served as Council President from 1991-1992. He also served on the Board of School Estimate and Planning Board. |
