Todd Hermanson joined Mezz Cap in April 2007 as Chief Financial Officer & Managing Director of Corporate Finance & Risk Management.
Prior to joining Mezz Cap, Mr. Hermanson was Vice President of Risk Management at Duke Energy Corporation where he led Duke Energy's regulated and global merchant risk management organizations. Prior to the merger of Duke Energy and Cinergy Corporation in 2006, Mr. Hermanson was Vice President of Global Risk Management for Cinergy Corporation where he was responsible for their market and credit risk management, risk analytics, and corporate risk management departments.
Prior to joining Cinergy, from 2001 to 2002, Mr. Hermanson was Chief Risk Officer at NewPower Holdings, Inc., a national retailer of electricity and natural gas to the residential market. There he was responsible for risk assessment and control, including market, credit and operational risk management, quantitative analysis, and data resource management, reporting directly to the CEO. Before his position at NewPower, from 1992 to 2001, he was with Phibro Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Citigroup focused on energy trading), holding various positions in risk management prior to being promoted to Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Credit Officer.
From 1987 to 1992, Mr. Hermanson held real estate lending positions at Sumitomo Bank Limited as Assistant Vice President of Structured Finance, and Connecticut Bank & Trust Company as Assistant Vice President of Commercial Real Estate.
Mr. Hermanson is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst ("CFA") designation.
Education
Mr. Hermanson earned a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Middlebury College, and a M.B.A. in Finance, with Beta Gamma Sigma Honors, from New York University.
