For the past eleven years Mr. O'Connor has been actively involved in major public policy issues affecting the deregulation of the natural gas and electric utilities industry in California specializing in promoting collaborative energy R&D for a deregulated energy market.
Mr. O'Connor's legal background and his Congressional staff experiences, especially with the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Tip O'Neill, have provided a valuable skill set in developing energy industry alliances involving government agencies, utilities, energy technology manufacturers, and utility customers.
Mr. O'Connor's efforts have led to generating $18 million in government R&D funding to develop commercially viable energy technologies and the creation of the Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) Program in California. Mr. O'Connor is currently President of O'Connor Consulting Services, Inc. in Woodland Hills, California.
