With over twenty years in the real estate industry - ten years in real estate capital markets advisory and execution - Tim Kuhn brings exceptional experience and advice to his clients in structuring and placing their debt and equity. As Vice President in our Originations Group, Tim is responsible for expanding our presence within the Philadelphia Region and exclusively throughout central and southern New Jersey. In this capacity he oversees the origination, underwriting and structuring of financing solutions via correspondent bank, life insurance company and agency sources. Financing types include debt, bridge, mezzanine and equity transactions.
Tim joined NorthMarq Capital after six years with Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. ("C&W") as Director in the Manhattan-based Capital Markets, Advisory Services Group and as finance and development lead for C&W's former parent - the Rockefeller Group, Inc. ("RGI"). In this capacity, Tim was a leader on a variety of acquisitions, dispositions and financings extending from M&A, campus relocation, new development and asset monetization events. Most notable were his recent roles negotiating joint-venture development and financing and investment agreements for RGI (Asia Pacific - development projects in Shanghai [US$1.5 billion] and Beijing [US$600 million], PRC); and, for structuring the potential investment in a real estate start-up for C&W (North America - 103 locations, 3.5 million RSF).
Prior to his work with RGI and C&W, Tim was a Manager and Senior Consultant in the national real estate practice of Marshall & Stevens, Inc., where he supervised advisory projects to optimize the value of investments and financings for a diverse group of clients, including: Fortune 500 companies, urban community redevelopment organizations and regional real estate development holding companies. Tim began his career in residential real estate development and has a comprehensive background in all phases of the development cycle as developer and general partner.
Throughout his career Tim has strived to attain both distinguishing experience and credentials. Until recently, he held certifications as general real estate appraiser and tax assessor in New Jersey, the senior appraiser (ASA, Urban Property) designation granted by the American Society of Appraisers and the associate status as MAI track member with the Appraisal Institute. Currently, Tim is a licensed Associate Broker in New York and Broker Salesperson in New Jersey. Tim holds both a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Temple University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania having received the Dean's Certificate for Academic Achievement; and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. |
