Timothy Fennell, PhD, has more than 25 years of experience in mechanistic-based research, specializing in the areas of metabolism and reactive metabolites. He has served as a principal investigator and GLP (good laboratory practices) study director, conducting studies to evaluate the blood pharmacokinetics, absorption, metabolism, distribution, and toxicity of compounds. The focus of his research has been on the detection and characterization of metabolites, metabolic processes, and their involvement in toxicity. Dr. Fennell is recognized as an expert in biomarkers, particularly in the area of reactive chemicals/metabolites and exposure assessment via protein- and DNA-adduct measurement. He has extensive experience in the isolation and characterization of metabolites and adducts by NMR spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy, and is a leading authority on the metabolism and exposure assessment of acrylamide. |
