Tim focuses his practice on litigating and trying cases in state and federal courts throughout the United States. His clients span a variety of industries and include manufacturers, distributors, retailers, broker-dealers, as well as individual officers, directors and shareholders. A significant portion of Tim’s practice involves product liability law, and his experience in disputes involving consumer and industrial electrical products is significant. Tim’s litigation and trial experience, however, is much broader and includes an array of cases involving securities fraud, trademark infringement, and other business, commercial and tort claims. In addition to appearing in court, Tim counsels clients regarding written materials associated with their products and services in an effort to minimize the risk of litigation.
Tim’s professional and pro bono efforts also have been acknowledged inside and outside of the firm. In 2002, he received the firm’s Pro Bono Award for legal service in the public interest. He was named a “Rising Star” by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine in 2004 and 2005, and in 2003 he received the Hispanic Bar Association’s Courage in Leadership Award for pro bono legal work benefiting the Hispanic community. Prior to joining the firm, Tim clerked for the Honorable Bruce M. Van Sickle, U.S. District Court, District of North Dakota.
