Mr. Chastain is a partner at Carrington Coleman. His practice focuses on commercial and securities litigation in both trial courts and arbitration proceedings. Mr. Chastain represents companies and individuals from a wide range of industries, including bankcard processing, insurance, oil and gas, technology services, and telecommunications. He has defended a leading provider of wireless communications services in various disputes involving dealer agreements and other contractual relationships. He was actively involved in defending a Fortune 500 company in a securities fraud lawsuit and a related SEC investigation. Mr. Chastain represents investment firms and individual brokers in arbitration proceedings. He defends clients against a wide variety of claims, including unsuitability, churning, misrepresentation, breach of contract, fraud, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and violation of federal and state securities acts. On multiple occasions, he has obtained the dismissal of a clearing firm prior to an arbitration hearing. He represented an individual broker in a NASD (now known as FINRA) investigation, which resulted in no action taken against the broker. Mr. Chastain has been named by Texas Monthly magazine as a Rising Star for 2005, 2006 and 2007. He was admitted to practice in Texas in 1999, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas. |
