Dr. Shannon has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since September 2007 and was previously Executive Vice President of Research and Development and Chief Medical Officer at CuraGen since September 2002. Prior to joining CuraGen Dr. Shannon served as Head and Senior Vice President of Global Medical Development at Bayer Pharmaceutical Group where he oversaw product development and portfolio management from research through product registration and held responsibility for all medical aspects of regulatory interaction including successful FDA and EMEA/CPMP advisory hearings and audits. Dr. Shannon earned his B.A. in chemistry from Amherst College and his M.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
