Timothy J. Hurley serves as co-chair of Taft’s Business Restructuring, Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Practice. He is a 1973 H.A.B. graduate (summa cum laude) of Xavier University and was graduated in 1976 from the St. Louis University School of Law, where he was class valedictorian.
Mr. Hurley frequently lectures on work-out and bankruptcy matters. His presentations have been broadcast nationally and carried on Court TV. His articles have been featured in trade magazines and newspapers. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Midwest Regional Bankruptcy Seminar.
For more than 30 years, Mr. Hurley has represented debtors, creditors, committees, indenture trustees, buyers, landlords, insurance companies and executors both in out-of-court work-out agreements and restructurings and in Chapter 11 cases throughout the United States. These representations encompass all types of complex transactions and litigation involving financially-distressed businesses and assets, including the acquisition and sale of assets and claims; the prosecution and defense of preference and fraudulent conveyance claims and motions related to stay relief; the formation and implementation of credit policies and procedures; the structuring of loans and other financing arrangements involving debtor-in-possession financing, letters of credit, leasing and floor-planning; and the negotiation and formulation of out-of-court restructuring arrangements and Chapter 11 reorganization plans.
Mr. Hurley has been included in Woodward/White’s The Best Lawyers in America since its 1991-1992 edition and is listed in every edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers. He has been named one of Ohio’s Top 100 Lawyers and one of Cincinnati’s Top 50 Lawyers in every Super Lawyer edition of Cincinnati Magazine and The Law & Politics Media Ohio Super Lawyer and as a Leading Lawyer in every Leading Lawyer edition of CincyBusiness magazine. |
