Practice
Timothy A. Barnes joined Curtis in October 2007 as a partner in the Restructuring and Insolvency Group. Prior to joining Curtis, Mr. Barnes was counsel in the Bankruptcy and Debt Restructuring Practice Group at the firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae in San Francisco and Chicago, where he led teams of attorneys and other professionals in addressing complex corporate restructuring, commercial litigation, finance and related matters.
Mr. Barnes’ practice focuses on corporate restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency law. He has experience in representing debtors, lenders, creditors, investors and other parties of interest in the world’s largest and most complex restructuring matters. In addition, he is a frequent writer and speaker on bankruptcy issues and an adjunct professor of law, teaching corporate restructuring to second and third year law students.
Mr. Barnes is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the Supreme Courts of Ohio and Illinois; United States District Courts in Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin; United States Courts of Appeal for Third, Sixth, Seventh, Ninth and Eleventh Circuits; the United States Supreme Court; and as a solicitor in England & Wales. He is AV® rated in Martindale-Hubbell as a corporate, finance and restructuring attorney and commercial litigator.
