Tim McNeal was named vice president, Talent Development and Diversity, Disney-ABC Television Group, in August 2006. He reports to Robert Mendez, senior vice president, Diversity, Disney-ABC Television Group.
In his role, Mr. McNeal oversees the Disney-ABC Television Group's talent development programs, including The Walt Disney Studios (TWDS) and ABC Entertainment Writing Fellowship, the ABC-DGA Directing Fellowship, the ABC Enertainment Television Group and TWDS Talent Development Scholarship-Grant Program, and the Summer Television & Film Workshop at the Institute of American Indian Arts, among many others. He is also responsible for further expanding the scope of these programs across Disney-ABC Television Group to include Disney Channel and ABC Family. Additionally, Mr. McNeal serves as a liaison between the Group and numerous diversity-related organizations, non-profit arts institutions, entertainment industry guilds, colleges and universities nationwide to identify and nuture talented, emerging writers, actors and directors.
Previously, Mr. McNeal served as senior vice president, Development, Tom Lynch Company, where he led the production company's expanse from kid-centered TV entertainment to primetime television.
Earlier in his career, as executive vice president for HollywoodTicket.com, Mr. McNeal was responsible for the interactive entertainment start-up's marketing and promotion. In 1994, Mr. McNeal joined The WB, where he eventually rose to the position of vice president, Drama Development, and was responsible for shepherding the development of hit series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Dawson's Creek" and "Felicity."
Mr. McNeal received his BA in Political Science from UCLA and lives in Los Angeles. |
