Professional Background
Timothy J. (Tim) Martin is managing director of John B. Collins Associates (UK), Ltd., Collins' London office. His career began in 1986 and has included insurance and reinsurance brokerage positions at several London firms, including C.T. Bowring and Bradstock, Blunt and Crawley Ltd. He was also an underwriting assistant at a Lloyd's of London syndicate.
In 2001 he helped lead Collins' entry into the London marketplace, serving as director of the joint venture between Collins and the London firm of Ballantyne McKean & Sullivan. He became managing director when Collins assumed full ownership of the operation in 2005.
In his 20-year career, Mr. Martin has negotiated and placed both property and casualty lines of reinsurance and insurance in the London market. He has established extensive relationships with all leading Lloyd's syndicates and London market reinsurers. He also places retrocessional business on behalf of London market companies in the U.S. and Bermuda, and is active in the buying and selling of industry loss warranties. |
